Southern Guam population

The indigenous inhabitants of Guam are Chamorro people, who first populated the island approximately 4,000 years ago. Guam was colonized by the Spanish in the 17th century and taken by the United States at the end of the 19th century. Today, it is a territory of the United States inhabited by a diverse mix of people from all over Asia Pacific, America, and the rest of the world.

The island's population is most dense in the northern and central regions. Villages of Southern Guam have the smallest populations and lowest population densities. Life in the south remains more laid back and more traditional than in the rest of the island.
